About the Kindergarten Leave Replacement Position:
Reformed Church Nursery School (RCNS) is seeking a passionate, creative, dedicated teacher to serve as a Kindergarten Leave Replacement teacher during the 2020-2021 school year. This person will serve as a Leave Replacement beginning November 1, 2020 through the end of February/early March 2021.
The Kindergarten Leave Replacement Teacher at RCNS collaborates with the head teacher in planning curriculum and reviewing lesson plans for the duration of the leave replacement. During the leave, the Leave Replacement Teacher will act as the head teacher to support student learning through whole class, small group, and one-on-one instruction in the areas of literacy, math, social studies, and science. The Leave Replacement Teacher will be familiar with the Teachers College Units of Study in Reading, Writing, and Phonics and familiar with Singapore Math. The Leave Replacement Teacher will work to maintain a positive classroom environment where students are always supported in social, emotional, and academic development.
This individual will also have a strong commitment to meeting the learning needs of each student through differentiated instruction, so that every child has the opportunity to grow and develop in their learning. He or she will demonstrate a love for children and a love of learning.

Masters Degree in Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2), Elementary Education (Grades 1-6), or Special Education
Experience with Teachers College Units of Study in Reading, Writing, & Phonics
Experience with Singapore Math
Experience teaching children ages 4-6 in a school based setting
Extensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education
Knowledge of a variety of classroom management skills
