The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) seeks to fill a twelve-month Academic Professional Track (APT) Assistant or Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education in HDFS who will serve as the coordinator for student teaching and teaching internships. We are seeking a colleague whose interests focus on mentoring pre-service teachers and supervising and coordinating student teachers’ credentialing and licensing requirements. The successful candidate should have a priority of serving children and families from diverse family structures, racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds across diverse settings, as well as working with racially, ethnically and culturally diverse staff and university students. The position has a flexible start date, but no later than August 1, 2021. Working with a committed team of program directors and coordinators who collaboratively oversee the policies and procedures of the program, responsibilities of this position include: 1. Teaching in a multi-disciplinary Birth through Kindergarten teacher preparation program intentionally structured to prepare university students to work effectively with diverse groups of children, with and without disabilities, in inclusive and culturally responsive settings; 2. Advising and mentoring early childhood education university students/pre-service teachers from diverse racial, ethnic, 3. Coordinating with School of Education personnel and program faculty regarding state licensure preparation and credentialing; and 4. Supporting the department through institutional and professional service.
