The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Early Childhood Special Education with an anticipated start date of August 19, 2024. We seek a colleague with a passion for teaching, who has a genuine interest in helping each student be their best and creating collaborations with community partners. The primary responsibilities of the faculty member will be to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, engage in an active research agenda, and provide service to the profession. In addition, the successful candidate will engage in accreditation procedures and program assessment, and advise, mentor, and recruit undergraduate and graduate students. Preferred candidates will have teaching experiences in areas such as early childhood special education assessment, literacy, policy/advocacy, autism, and/or instructional methods for students with various abilities. Since our special education graduate program is 100% online, experiences in teaching online or hybrid classes would be beneficial. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate special education courses; conduct research and participate in scholarly activity; provide service to the department, college, university, the metropolitan community, and the profession.

Required Qualifications: At the time of hire, the candidate should have an earned doctorate in the area of early childhood special education (or closely related field). ABD candidates will be considered, however, they must have an earned degree before August 2024.
