The College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University is looking for a Post DoctoralScholar to work with Dr. Matthew Brock at the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy and Dr. Katherine Walton at the Nisonger Center. The Post Doctoral Scholar will split their time between work on (1) a federally funded project examining the impact of FLIP Recessan intervention to improve social outcomes for students with extensive support needs at recess, and (2) research and dissemination initiatives regarding training teachers and other early childhood staff to implement best practices for inclusive early childhood education.
Position Overview
This is a full-time Post Doctoral Scholar position who will be hired to dedicate 12 months to two major projects: (1) a federally funded project examining the impact of FLIP Recessan intervention to improve social outcomes for students with extensive support needs at recess, and (2) research and dissemination initiatives regarding training teachers and other early childhood staff to implement best practices for inclusive early childhood education. Most (70%) of the scholars time will focus on FLIP Recess, a large efficacy trial of a recess-based intervention for students with extensive support needs funded by the Institute on Education Sciences. This work is led by Dr. Matthew Brock, who is the Principal Investigator. In addition, 30% of the scholars time will focus on partnering with Dr. Katherine Walton at the Nisonger CenterA University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. Specifically, this time will focus on dissemination initiatives regarding training teachers and other early childhood staff to implement best practices for inclusive early childhood education.
Position Environment
The position will start August 10, 2026 and end on August 9, 2027. The position is not renewable.
